Recording and checking geometry status

Top | Previous | Next

To analyse changes in the geometry, its current (initial) state must first be recorded. This provides a baseline for comparing subsequent variations in geometry. Later, as the geometry changes, it is possible to track its states and determine which parts have changed. This way, the engineer gets a clear indication of which part drawings or CNC processing programs need to be updated or revised. Also, the designer can change the Part Number and Description iProperty fields of the changed parts at their discretion.

Show status - displays a list of changed parts in the assembly since the last recording of geometric status. For example, the user has changed the width of the given structure. In addition, all changed parts are highlighted on a graphical display. The user can modify the Part Number and Description fields of the changed parts in the list provided.

Record Current Status on Save Check Box indicates that a new component geometry status is being recorded at the time of saving and that subsequent comparisons will now be made with this status.
