Shape nesting of parts from a sheet |

Explanation of the term shape nesting.
In order to better understand this function, we will discuss two types of nesting. In furniture production, there are two ways to cut the raw material sheet into workpieces:
1.Guillotine nesting is carried out by sawing a sheet into rectangular workpieces. This can be done by both manually controlled sliding table saw and a CNC machine. The market offers a variety of software options, which process the list of parts and provides optimum nesting schemes. If a CNC machine is used, such scheme is converted into a CNC program. Input data for such software are specifications of parts, stating the dimensions of workpieces. Woodwork for Inventor can provide such specifications in virtually any form.
2.Shape nesting is carried out by milling parts out of a raw material sheet according to provided part contours using a software-controlled CNC machine. Input data for such nesting are CNC program and other similar data. The most important element is the external milling contour, usually called the nesting contour. The functionality of the Woodwork for Inventor Nesting program is intended for shape nesting design and generating the information needed to put the nesting into production.
The following sections provide information about the control of the Woodwork for Inventor Nesting module and its generated information.
