Accessed via the menu: Export Options
Here, you can set up parameters of export to other formats.
▪Saving a drawing – determines whether AutoPlot requires saving a drawing in Autodesk Inventor format (IDW or DWG) during AutoPlot operation, or whether it is sufficient to have the generated export file in the selected format.
▪Link exported file to idw drawing: this option means that a reference to the exported file will be generated for .idw file as a 3rd Party item. It is useful when a Check In to Autodesk Vault PDM system is performed. In such a case, the exported file is automatically added to PDM system together with the .idw drawing file.
▪Link exported file to source of idw views: this option means that the exported file will be added to the component file that was used as a source when generating the component view in the drawing as a 3rd Party reference. It is different from the previous option in that here, the exported file is linked to the component rather than the drawing.
Exporting to the following file formats is possible:
▪DXF
▪DWF
▪DWG
▪Image
Important! If Woodwork for Inventor was installed immediately after installing Autodesk Inventor, export functions may not work, because Autodesk Inventor does not have its own add-on for exporting drawings to other formats. The user will receive the appropriate message from Woodwork for Inventor. You can solve this issue by exporting a drawing to the desired format using Files -> Export command. Once this is done, Autodesk Inventor loads the add-on and such problems are avoided in the future.
▪Export Directory – defines where the exported file should be placed. |
▪Overwriting options – determines whether older versions of exported files should be preserved or overwritten by newly generated files. |
▪All colors are black - Prints the drawing in black and white. Embedded images and shaded views are still printed in color. ▪Remove line weights - Prints all line weights the same, regardless of the line weight settings in the drawing. ▪Vector resolution - Specifies the pixel resolution for vector and raster graphics of the PDF files that you create.
|
▪Include 3D Models – when exporting to a DWF file, a 3D model of the component is included in the file alongside the 2D drawing. |
▪AutoCAD version – specifies the AutoCAD version to which to export the IDW file. |
▪Format – sets the format of the exported file. ▪Pixel Size – determines how the size of the exported image is set. ▪Resolution – sets the resolution of the image in pixels per unit of measurement (DPI). ▪Print Size – sets the size of the image in centimeters or inches. ▪Embeded picture to component – the generated picture is saved to the 3D component file. This image can then be placed in the Woodwork for Inventor BOM by means of the special keyword “{Item.DrawingSheetImage(<Size>}”.
